Match Report:

Tormarton started off well in this game. We had a few chances in the first half which we could have capitalised on. A few shots over the bar and one hitting the post. We took the lead in the first half, after a goal from Layton Windsor. Layton took the shot from the edge of the box and went in to the right of the keeper. After a brilliant point blank save on a one on one from Andy Long. DRG equalised from the resulting corner. The ball was whipped in with their striker winning the header, heading it down into the 6-yard box for another player to be the quickest to react and finish from a few yards out. The first half finished 1-1.

The second half was more of the same with Tormarton being the better team. Plenty of chances that unfortunately we could not capitalise on. After intercepting the opposition from an error, Layton Windsor looked up and saw the keeper off the line and chipped him from outside the box to give the tors the lead for the second time in the game. In the last few minutes of the game the Tors gave away a freekick in a defensive position. DRG whipped the corner into the box, with an unchallenged player heading the ball into the top left-hand corner. A frustrating day for the Tors to give the game away at the dead.

He had a great game at right back. Plenty of running and winning of the ball. Great performance.

Sam Jarman (Manager):

"Lads, I’m so gutted for you boys today, we didn't deserve that but we also did. If you don't pick your man up from a set piece in the last minute and they score from it, you deserve everything that's coming to you. Again, if we had a bit more conviction in the final third and in the box, we're 4, 5, 6-0 up and the game is to bed. So frustrating, you show week in week out you don't deserve to be near the bottom. We have had games where we deserved to lose and I've got cross but today we didn't. Today we deserved to hold onto that lead and there were some real stand-out performances for me. Longy, was brilliant at the back, calm and assured. Kicking was excellent and the save you made in the first half today was brilliant. Barber and Chaz fantastic. Ryan Calvey put in a man of the match performance. Adam well done. Bajj. I could talk about every player today and how well they did. It was such a tough one, because we didn't deserve to lose that. I know we're all hurting but let’s harness that. We need to work on set-pieces, attacking and defending. We didn't lose, we got the point. It's just another point closer to safety. If we play like we did in the first half with triangles and passing and moving, against anybody, we beat them. It's about really galvanising ourselves and moving on. I'm gutted really didn't deserve that at all. Nice to see Kingy back in a tors shirt, absolutely smashing mate, well done."

Well in today lads, was actually a really good watch, to see you all playing like you do at training, with the confidence and the aggression to play simple bit exciting football. Agree with Sam it’s disappointing, remember how that feels for the next game and take it with you to the next game.

Charlie Gregory (Player):

We’ve got to take heart that we were easily the better team for 88 minutes of that game, and we switched off for 2 and got punished. But that’s experience in seeing out tight games and we need to learn from it. Feels like a loss but DRG won’t pick up many more points this season, so it’s not the end of the world. Unlucky today, UTT ❤
