Match Report:

Both teams were up for the game and any team could have netted the first goal. After a few chances for both teams, Olveston were the ones to take the lead. Their striker latched onto the end of a through ball that split our defence and coolly slotted past an onrushing Andy Long into the bottom right-hand corner. The tors had further chance to equalise with the biggest chance coming before half time. Charlie Ross headed the ball back across goal from a corner. This fell to Layton Windsor a few yards out who off balance put the ball over the crossbar. A shot that was unlike Layton and rightly earned him DOD. In the second half, the Tors got back into the game. Matty Bajjada played a delightful through ball into the feet of Mason England who made a superb run down the left side of the pitch. Mason got his head up and squared the ball low across the goal to Layton Windsor to slot into the bottom right corner. After this the game could have gone either way and both teams had good chances.

Unfortunately not long after we scored Olveston took the lead again. After our defence was unable to deal with a bouncing ball in the box, Aaron Chamberlain tried to rectify the situation and clipped the striker in the box, bringing him down for a penalty. The penalty was dispatched to the right of Andy Long into the goal. Olveston later added a third in the form of an own goal from Charlie Ross. They crossed the ball across the face of goal, looking to pick out a player at the back post. Charlie tried to intercept this cross and unfortunately fired the ball into the roof of the net. Unfortunately another loss for Tormarton but we showed a lot of promise in a game that debatably we should have won.

Calm and measured in CM always trying to play the ball and not lump it long, kept the opposition CM quiet as well. He hasn't stopped talking about the goal he scored the other week, so expect him to tell his grandkids about this MOTM.

Sam Jarman (Manager):

"Tough one to take yesterday, probably dominated 65% of the game and unfortunately didn’t take our chances, Olveston weathered that storm and came back at us with 3 goals that you could argue we didn’t deserve to concede owing to an potential offside and a debateable pen, however I think we are yet again the masters of our own undoing, I feel all 3 goals come from us moving away from the pass and move style of football we’re trying to play and the minute we force to long ball it comes back to us and then we are under pressure, if we take our chances we are potentially 3/4 up at the break and the games ours, unfortunately we didn’t and we’ve faced another L.

Big shout outs to Ryan King, Andy May, Ben Hawkins for turning up and supporting the lads and to Mason and Chambo’s dads."
