Match Report:

For the second week in a row, Tormarton took the lead in the game by scoring the first goal. A low-driven cross across goal looking for Tyrese Tucker was intercepted by a defender but in the process, they accidently scored an own goal. Despite other chances for both teams, there was no further goals in the first half.

Sea Mills applied the pressure in the second half. They equalised with the help of the wind as they whipped in a corner that took our keeper off guard and was blown over his head and into the goal as he came out to collect. Sea Mills later added to their tally and took the lead in the game from a well worked goal. They had a chance to add a third when Harry Barber took down a player in the box and they were awarded a penalty. The penalty was rifled past Kerley in goal and onto the post, Kerley did dive the right way. A let off for the Tors. Tormarton built a bit of momentum. With 5 minutes left, player-manager Sam Jarman crossed the ball into open space with Sam Brain rushing onto the through ball beating the keeper and slotting past him with a one touch finish. The score finished 2-2 and probably a fair result to end the game.

Mitch Gooding
He did everything that was asked of him and more. He was disciplined, really stepped into his role and really stepped up. Well done Mitch.

Sam Jarman (Manager):

“Well done to the 13 lads who carried me today and put a shift in. It was a tough game today, I’ve played against Sea Mills for 5 years now and its always a tough, scrappy game. Its always difficult. I don’t think we’ve ever really got a result at their place or our place. We were missing some big characters today and the fact that we dug in really impressed me. Well done to Sam Brain for his goal today, justified my selection by setting him up. In all seriousness, well done brainer, well done Jayden, well done Kingy, I don’t think you boys really put a foot wrong today. It’s always tough to come in when you’ve not played much football. We had 13 warriors out there today. It’s touch, the season has not gone the way we have wanted it to so far, but this is our opportunity to push on.”

Harry Barber (Player):

“Good shift today lads! 2-2 aint a bad result. A lot of lads showed character and passion today which is something we have really been lacking, so good progression!"

Tyrese Tucker (Player):

“The first half was a much better performance, especially in the first 30 minutes. We were playing some nice one-two’s, playing it on the floor a lot and when we were playing it over the top it was at the right times. We had so much space in behind and we kept behind on the wings – even Sam Jarman did a really nice job at keeping the pitch wide and getting in behind. Second half for both teams was pretty sh*t technically, we were both smashing it long. Both teams ended up getting really tired, it was one of those games we ended up spraying and praying.”
